Default Canada/U.S.A. difference

Random, this is mostly geared toward you but any info that anyone might have would be greatly appreciated.
Does the MAF sensor look different from the Canadian Tib to the US version?
I am trying to fit my CAI but in the pics for the install the whole MAF sensor tube looks different. Could you let me know, and any suggestions as to how to remedy this would be great.

Thanx in advance guys.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no difference between our cars in the MAF. There are some ECU changes for KPH vs MPH, but other than that, they should be identical.

What kind of problem? Can you send me photos?

Actually the ecu and mafs should be the same, most cars came with both kph and mph so usa and Canada ecus were set to be switchable to both. If the tube is not fitting on the mafs it may be missing the reducer?

Random could you post a pic(or e-mail me)of a MAP sensor? Is it possible to have a MAPS instead of a MAFS? If so is it good or bad?
Thanx

The MAP sensor would be located in/on the intake manifold itself.

If you have a 6" tube with 4-5 wires going to it in your intake air stream, you have a MAF. If you don't have one of those between the stock airbox and the Throttle body...then you have a MAP.

Do you remeber the pics that Tunez posted of his CAI? If so my sensor tube looks similar to his but I have other "junk" on the intake as well. Tunez's MAF sensor tube is straight where as mine has a nice curve to it.

The maf needs to be straight. There is another piece that is curved AFTER the maf, but they are 2 different pieces.

*Bows down to Random's infinite wisdom*

I must have been over tired, hot, and lacking patients when I was looking at that.
I am going to try twisting and moving the tubes to try and get it to fit. Tunez's looks like it has a lot more room than mine.

Q: What does that little "gadget" on the back of the intake do? It connects to the plastic ducting and goes into the intake after the throttle body.

Thanx again Random
