Hey Everyone,
As i had mentioned in my introduction post, I was looking to get a CAI.
I have this in Mind:
http://www.cardomain.com/item/AEM21520B?vq_id=none (I have a coupon code that makes it $199)
Anything I should know or consider before ordering that in?
I live in Canada, and sometimes the snow can be bad, with alot of slush around, although i prefer not to drive under these conditions, i occasionally have to.
I am thinking of getting a by-pass valve eventually.
Anyone know how well these work:
http://injenonline.com/cgi-bin/Merchant2/m...ategory_Code=PF
Can you use them over a AEM intake? If it does, it adds a nice look and obviously protects my filter from getting water in it.
Thanks in Advance.
Shad

I have and Injen filter cover if ya want, ill 50% w/e they are selling it to ya for.
Yes it should work, considering most filters have similar design, but I wouldnt put it on, ull be fine as long as you dont drive like a retard in the rain, and dont go drive through a lake. Tiburons might be sharks, but they dont like to swim.

Kind of pointless since you can't see the filter when it's installed. I'm sure it would hinder air flow as well. Unless you live in an area where monsoons or flooding are common I wouldn't worry about it. About the only situation you need to look out for would be if you are driving along a road and get to an area that is covered with water and you can't be sure of the depth of it. In that case don't drive through.
I drive all year round in all weather conditions with mine installed and have never had any problems.

So would you say, that I should rather invest in the by-pass filter instead of the cover or not to worry about that at this point either, until later.
Does being in a region of high humidity affect this choice? or is it irrelevant and the only way i can hydro-lock my engine is if i actually submerge the filter in water or soak it considerably?
Thanks for the answers so far! smile.gif

The only way the CAI will hydrolock is if you submerge it in water - ie a ditch or a 24" deep puddle. You could get a splash guard if you want, but it wont hydrolock either way from splashing.

If they are shipping from the US to Canada you will get charged customs, and if they ship via UPS you will get RAPED with duties (for an item like that, UPS could charge you aproximatelly $50!)
Only get it shipped from the US if they can ship via USPS (free or $5 plus 6% GST) or Fedex (I believe its $7 + 6% GST). DHL might not be so bad either, i'm not sure.
Just please, do not get it shipped via UPS!!!!!!
