Tim has a valid point. To completely unwire and rewire a car is pointless. I just needed a new block, head, and transmission.

all you had to do to fit the trans mount was a very little grinding on the trans case so it sits flush. we have quite a few members using the beta2 trans now that have explained it. it took us a whooping minute at most with a shitty dremel. a die grinder would take like 15 seconds probably.

motor mount, i dunno, never tried that one yet, but i do have my 28K beta2 in the garage for when the times needed.

Updates:

The motor is in with the mounts finally finished. I had to notch the engine cradle and weld brackets for the two lower mounts and the transmission mounts. Also, none of the sensors from the old transmission line up with the new one. So I will need to get a wiring harness for the transmission from the XD and splice it into the J2 harness. I'm not too happy right now.

Alright im hoping to do this swap cuz my engine is getting on in age (129k miles) I have a new tranny though so will the beta2 just bolt right up or will I need to do welding and grinding like yamaha said he did. Or was he just talking about getting the transmission to fit which doesnt matter to me cuz I dont have a beta2 tranny.?

Thanks guys

Alright a few more questions, If I baught a used beta2 with 33k miles on it should I do anything to it while its out of the car or is it just fine? Does it matter if it was mated to an automatic and now its going in my 5 speed car? What parts should I ask for included with the long-block and what parts from my beta will I want to port over? Is it a better idea to spend an extra 100$ and get an engine with 5k miles or does it not matter since they both come with the same shitty 30 day warranty? Any DIY or a list of the problems I could possibly run into, all the posts ive seen havent addressed this strait for the block only leaving my beta tranny in. Are my header's exhaust and intake from my beta going to directly swap over? How long should I expect to not have my car seeing as im doing this in 3 hour time-blocks with possible 2-3 person help and a full garage facility in my school's engine lab.
