Umm... is it no longer going to be used after this year? If so 2010 is the last year run of the beta motor.

I think the Kia Soul is still running the Beta. I don't know if they're gonna change that or not though.

The new 2012 Elantra will use a version of the Global engines and not the Beta. The 2011 Elantra still uses the Beta 2 and the Soul will use the Beta 2 till I think 2012 and then it will phase in the new motors. The Beta 1/2 had a great run in its lifetime but its old iron block single VVT technology. I say bring on the Dual VVT Direct Injected engines!

I say keep using my iron block in production so when my car is 30 years old I can buy a low-miles drop-in replacement! laugh.gif

Beta isn't going anywhere. the Kia Soul will be producing it through 2015.
