First and foremost. I searched. The engine won't take anything under three letters, so searching "beta 2" isn't really possible.
I saw it mentioned in a few threads that all you have to do to fit a beta 2 transmission into a tib is to grind down the rear roll stop bracket, can anyone elaborate on this? A picture would be helpful when it comes to showing exactly what needs to be ground off, since I'd rather not just go around cutting things off with careless abandon... I'll post up a pic late tonight when I get back to my apt if someone else hasn't already.

I just searched transmission swap. It was about 20 pages back though.

Hmmmm, well then maybe that isn't my problem. For some reason I can't get my transmission mounts to bolt up to this tranny. I'm using the roll stop brackets that came attached to the tranny, and it's just a horrible fit. I'll bolt one in, but then the other won't reach all the way, it's like I need to slide the other mount over a little.
On top of this, the bolts that I have seem tiny compared to the actual transmission mounts, they don't completely fill in the metal insert in the middle of the brackets and all I can think is that there's gonna be a ton of free play. What am I doing wrong here?
EDIT: Looks like I may have found my answer. Apparently you have to use the stock tiburon motor mounts to fit it back on there. Only problem is the stock motor mounts (off of an automatic) don't fit.
Well dammit!.

well, the tranny i bought from eric said beta 2 on it. so i soppose it's a beta 2 tranny, but the shop was able to put it into my car. i'm not sure if they used my stock mounts but it's in there.

Was yours a manual or an automatic? If it was a manual, they just reused your old brackets. In my case, coming from an automatic, I'm doing two projects at once. An auto to manual swap AND a beta 1 to beta 2 transmission swap. Apparently I need to get my hands on a set of beta 1 manual transmission mounts.
Anybody got some to spare?

yeah, i got a manual, so they probably did just reuse my stock mounts. like in my thread in kjb, i had problems getting into gears then i recently bought the derlin shifter bushings and no more problems.
i might have some from my first tranny in the garage. i'll have to check.

Nice, I'd appreciate the looking. I've got the KJB delrin bushings and the solid shifter base mounts, can't wait to feel this thing shift once it's all together!
