i have searched for days and since the 2nd gear grind is getting bad i have decided to do the beta 2 tranny swap.

i want to do the swap to the elantra's beta 2 because of the better 5th gear for highway travel.

im just wondering what year elantra to look for?

and

what year other people have used?

thanks

I did an Elantra 03 GT tranny swap and it was working great too until now, my second gear syncro is going bad again.

the highway traveling 'longer' 5th gear that everyone speaks of, is almost no difference at all.. the only difference i could tell with a beta II trans was no more grinding and better shifting.
