i did but that also included the GK head swap, gained around 10bhp and about the same in lb.ft torque. It ran out of revs before hitting full power though (both curves were still rising)so she might have given even more.

I have the same setup. A cleaned up GK head, two exhaust cams. I also installed 1.8 pistons and shaved the head 40 thousandths. It gained almost five horsepower.

^^^Nice! They are claiming a 20bhp increase. Maybe I'll test that claim one day in the F2E.

I could see maybe a 20bhp gain with supporting mods like headers and some port work done. Along with a tune that should net about 10whp or so, or close to 20bhp.

We went with some specs suggested by Geoff at Colt. Unfortunately since the Beta 2 head uses MLAs we had to buy some thicker buckets they make as well. I'll let you all know how it works out for us. I won't have any before and after dyno plots though.

When I had my cams done by Colt I just bought some lash caps, not actual replacement buckets.

I have beta II cams as well.

Yeah I was going to just go with thicker caps but he suggested the thicker buckets to make up the difference. Should be interesting.
