Default Best oil filter other than OEM

I always stock up and get a few OEM Hyundai oil filters for my changes, but if you couldnt get yourself an OEM, what's the next best? Fram is crap, so what else is there?

The only filter I would recommend is Wix.

My 465,000 mile Nissan truck would argue with your (and "Bob is the self absorbed dumb*ss oil guy"s) Fram is crap statement.

Same here. No problems with that brand.

Just because it hasn't failed for you doesn't mean it's not crap. It definitely is crap compared to a good quality filter. Quantitatively this includes much lower filter surface area, worse filter material, and a crappy bypass "valve" design.

With proper maintenance schedules with an oil system that isn't too picky even a Fram and the cheapest oil available will keep your engine running just fine. The Alpha powered Accents at least has a poorly designed and finicky oil system. It will tick with a Fram filter. When pushed the Wix and OEM are the filters that work best out of the ones I've tried. I haven't tried a Purolator so I can't comment.

My RD and GK tick like crazy if I use Fram filters. I usually stick to OEM or WIX.

Fram filter killed my HLA'S in my old tiburon.

I used a K&N from there on out but they've gotten wayyyy to expensive.
