Is there a particular order that the caps should be installed when putting them back on the intake cam. Should the bolts be tightened in a particular order?
Before you say it, I know 9lbs. I did the search already. Pics no longer posted in the dyi, nothing on HMA about order and the other 4 posts didn't cover any specific order.
Hopefully I'll be doing the install this weekend.

As Webtech specifies no order, any order would prob be fine.

If I was doing it I'd probably tighten in the middle then work my way out, but thats just me. I've never heard of any particular way to do cams, although with intake and exhaust manifolds I've been told start in the middle and work out. That probably has something to do with getting the gasket to seat correctly though.

while my shop manual does not list a specific order.. it does say that you should tighten down the caps in two or three steps. So, at 9 ppounds of torque.. you should tighten them all down at 3 or 4 1/2 and either go to 6 or straight to 9 depending on how many steps you want to take.

Perfect! Thanks guys hail.gif

I couldn't wait! Camshaft installed today. Took me less than an hour. Not bad for my first time. No issues so far. Well a little rough running, but I forgot to reset the ecu after the install. Didn't get a chance to run it after the reset. We'll see after a few days to break it in.
thanks for the help guys.

Sign me up for the asshat of the year award. I just realized that I misread the directions: 5 links from, not between. Well I know what I'll be doing tomorrow morning! owned.gif
