I have an '01, but I need to order the shifter listed for the 97-00's becasue of the imaginary white shifter base right?

Yes.

Should be shift knob with a block at one end of it, the one you DON'T want is the shaft with the huge infectious bulb on it.

are you able to use a knob other than the one that comes with the ARK? Like a sparco?
