Is there any problem with mixing oil of different weights? I don't think this is a problem but would like to get some opinions on it.

not really...how much are you talking here? like i need 10w-30 and have 90% of that and last 10% 5w-30? thats fine, shops do that all the time. if you're going half and half well its no longer that oil weight

you are best to stick with same brand oil though. i'm sure it doesn't happen often, but it is possible that the different additives in different brands may not like each other. i usually use the same brand constantly with an engine myself for that reason.

Some of the BISTOG members make their own "boutique" blend of different weights.
