hey folks, i didn't want to jack the other thread so here it is..
my clutch squeaks from time to time.. kinda like brakes do.. but i know its not the brakes cuz i'm not hitting the brake pedal.. its usually around the area of the friction point...
my car has about 78K KMS on it... but i learned how to drive stick on this car so i rode the clutch a lot initially..
any ideas what this could be? do i need a new clutch, and if so, can someone give me a ballpark figure as to how much a new one one would cost me and if theres any places online or around that sels tem cheap rather than going to the dealership

man i dont know the exact terminology here..... but the difference will be in the performance handling... an oem clutch wont be able to handle say a 10 psi turbo like an aftermarket clutch would. its just the strength of the clutch... etc. someone else help me out... i know what i want to say, just cant find the words.

A squeeky clutch huh
never heard of that have you tried to lube the clutch pedal? is the noise coming from under the hood or under the dash?
an aftermarket clutch will have more clamping force (so it will be able to handle more power etc)

differences :
clamping pressure :
(higher number = able to handle more power, also generally more pedal pressure),
# of pucks or full face :
(stock clutch is full faced, ie: where the clutch actually meets the flywheel is all one peice, the VHR clutch thats in my tib is a 4 puck design, ie: it touches the flywheel in four places once engaged, which also has alot to do w/ the engagement properties, and the amount of power that can be held)
The materials on the pucks or face :
(see above ^^, different materials can handle different power levels, also deals w/ the longevity)

they do sell stock ones on ebay for around 100 bucks or so...thats saving about 150 from the dealership cause they charge 270+ or so for a clutch kit. i just put my car in the shop to change clutches with a stock one i bought from ebay...so we'll see how good it goes...it looks like a great deal....if you dont change the clutch yourself you are looking around 500-600 at a regular repair shop...1000 at the dealership....since i bought the clutch myself for 100 i will be spending around a total of 450-500 to replace my clutch...
