Default AEM Filter Replacement Idea

Anyone have their AEM filter handy? I need the dimensions so I can order a new replacement.

I'm planning on trying a K&N extreme flow. Seems like the AEM might benefit more from an open top design filter with the way it's positioned. Just makes sense to me. Anyone else have thoughts?

You might want to go with the Apexi filter. It does a much better job of filtering.

I personally think the K&N is the best bet overall. Cheuk said in that post Random mentioned that the Apexi filter didn't do so well in a test he saw in a car mag. There could be results both ways. The K&N wins it for me because it is half the price of the Apexi and gives good results. I can't see spending $100 on an air filter for a non-race car. They are both reputable companies however so either choice is good. I mean many people use Fram filters and think that that is the best

I don't know about the X-Stream model though, haven't heard much about that.

I was looking at the two, and it seems like I'd need an adapter to fit the Apex'i. Doesn't seem to have the external flange like I can get on a K&N.

i went with a k&n for the simple facts that it's relatively inexpensive and from a very reputable company. i'm curious about the apexi, though. i'd like someone on here to give it a try.
