Its never really been discussed too much (I searched) and I was wondering if adancing the timing by a couple of degrees offers any kind of hp or torque increase in either an N/A or turbo engine?

 

Advancing N/A does give a power increase. Unfortunately it's not like the good ol' days when you could just rotate the distributor. It requires computer tuning now. Most reprogrammed ECU's intended for N/A applications have the timing advanced. IIRC you can also get it done with an AEM FIC. Aside from that you can go with a full standalone.

there are ways to trick the aem fic into advancing timing. But you have to use the maf sensor along with the map. and its a long process and requires a maf map that is ridiculous for minimal advancing
