Hey everybody, I would like to ask anyone who has the ACT sprung 6 puck clutch and the fidanza flywheel. If you have experience with either one, although i do prefer if you were using both at the same time, I would like some input on how they performed. I am in need of a clutch soon and I was thinking about getting these from kjb.

Thanks everyone!

for a NA car it's pointless to go with a puck style clutch

Ok sorry man I read through it but I didn't exactly see what I was looking for. I was hoping someone would describe in more detail the characteristics of the flywheel. Like how much faster it seemed to rev up and also how easy it was to drive from switching from the stock to a very light weight one. Also they all described a street clutch and i'm interested in a 6 puck. Although denisst just said that it'd be useless with a na set up.... 02.gif

so i shouldn't get a 6 puck? should I just go with a full face sprung clutch? Also sprung or unsprung? I read up on this and it seems that sprung is more streetable, but unsprung is cheaper....any suggestions or first-hand experiences?

Fidanza is quick...... now I never driven a tib with a stock flywheel so my opinion is void... but from my car and 01steve's car is that it's quick and takes some getting used to.

post 17 quote#2 comparison of act street clutch with 4 puck both with fidanza flywheel, its not a 6, but it gives you an idea.

As far as the flywheel, I have one with a clutchmaster, definitely a recommended combo, The engine does rev up a little quicker, but I put this in at the same time as I did a few other things. Its definitely streetable, dive it around the block a few times and if you're a decent driver you'll be used to it

Denisst is right. You'll never put down the power to require one, so there's no need to sacrifice driveability. And personally, I don't like the Fidanza for daily driving either, which is why I sold it. The lack of rotational mass means you need to rev the motor more. Then there's the instant engagement and chatter of a pucked clutch....

I have stock flywheel and ACT 6-puck clutch and I love it.
It's a bit less driveable than stock (but then again tib's clutch engagement sucks badly) but holds the power really well (pushing about 10psi).

For any kind of N/A build or light turbo build, I'd use the ACT street disk.

You can't go wrong with either IMO

Alright thanks for all the info guys, I think yeah a street disc would be much more streetable. But I think I'd still like to get the fidanza....unless there's another lightened flywheel that is slightly heaving than the feather light fidanza and the heavy stock one.....I think i saw a clutchmasters two piece one but I'm not sure what i means by two piece (if that has any benefits) and how heavy it is. It also seemed to be a bit more pricey. I think the fidanza is not too bad pricewise

Know that the reduced inertia of a lighter flywheel will make your car accelerate faster in the lower gears, but in higher gears where you're barely accelerating even at WOT it won't really make a difference.

Oh, and definitely get sprung. They cost the same, sprung reduces vibrations and harshness.
