Redzman asked me to comment on the 4:3 final drive. This is a big improvement
on the standard- 3:5 I believe. You go through the gears a lot faster. For me I need more like a 5:1 as top end is not that important 100-110 is fine.

At the moment none of our stages in Barbados allow me to use 5th, 4th is just approaching 8000 ( no idea of speed as speedo is disconnected due to the Quaife LSD)
Changing to the 5:1 should help me keep in the powerband (4000-8000) better.
Hope that it is available.

posted some pics in my album- hope this is the right place. Don't know HP but it's pretty fast, guessing around 180 based on gtech meter. In addition to the list in the introduction, I use Leda suspension, full roll cage, buckets & harnesses.

Leda is NICE.. been looking at them for the suspension in my Lancia..

5:1 diff is going to rip to the redline in the first three gears in no time flat. Driving to and from the track you can probably use second to pull away with no issues.

Changing the FD is all good and well for track/drag racing. Its just a b**** when your revving so high cruising on the motorway

Depends on the car. My Spider has a 4.40 to 1 rear end ratio with Limited slip stock (LSD is dead though) I hit 70mph at 4000rpms in fifth with a .881 ratio With a higher redline than the tib (can hit 7 grand) the car tops out at just under 120 mph due to the limits imposed by the gearing.

You can get shorter gear ratio for cheap on a tibby. Simply use the accent gt doch gears in your tib tranny casing. The X3 GT tranny is one of the shortest gear ratios available on the oem market. You will be at 4000rpm at 75mph with a top speed a little shy of 120mph.

I had a 96 Accent GT. Rpms were half the speed exactly in 5th gear. Ex. 80mph=4krpms, 40mph=2krpms. The Tib isn't that much different.

yes, but what are the gear ratios and the final drive ratio on the Accent Gt. You could have short gears and a tall final drive
