Default 2003 Dual Exhaust

OK..as most of know, having a dual exhaust on a stock I4 is not the best thing in the world to do for performance. However, the 2003's that come with the I4 have a dual exhaust. Does anyone know how much the performance has suffered by them doing that? It was just something I was curious about. wink

It's a single system that splits near the back into 2 mufflers.

I know. It's the same design as the V6. Its also similiar with alot of aftermarket dual exhaust systems where it's a single pipe and it splits off to 2 mufflers. However, it's not good for performance levels. I'm wondering how much the I4's performance dropped by having the dual exhaust on it.

the drivers side of the dual exhaust really isnt used... plus the piping is pretty small... so i doubt it hurts performance on the I-4

Im actually considering a dual exhaust for my 1st gen tibby... just because it would look so bad ass with it. tongue.gif

The driver side is the most used one...

The split isn't really a Y but more of a *h* giving a more direct flow to the left muffler (driver side).

I think the passenger side is the most used, since it goes straight out the back with little resistance.

I think it reduces about 10ponies!!!!!

My friend with a 03 tib took off the 2nd tip and tube and the car ran much more faster...Dunno about dynos though..
One things dure..This dual tip exhaust really hurts the perform.of the I4 03Tib..
Its only for showoff but it hurts performance eek!
