OK Its time to say bye bye to my 1.6L Beta engine.

Option 1: Install the 2.0L engine and move the majority of the parts (custom intake, CAI, sprockets, GT heades, etc) from my 1.6L engine to the used 2.0 engine which my mechanic will rebuild with new rods, forged pistons, kspec cams, etc.

Option 2: Install the brand new V6 3.8 (265 hp) engine from the Hyundai Azera. Would it fit my engine bay ? does anyone have installed that engine ? is it possible ? what problems might occur?

Please assist... smile.gif

hm.... allow me to think about this...

A 1997, 3.8L V6 Powered Tiburon... that may be a powerful car

I'm fairly certain nobody has done that before, and I would think it'd be a pretty major project. I'd like to see you go for it so you could do something creative and crazy in the community. If you do it, pictures are a must!!

Sure it would be a powerful car. According to my calculations my Tib weights 1377 kg and with the 3.8L engine (without mods) would make the ¼ mile in 13,4 sec (aprox).

Think of the weight of the motor. The 3.8L weighs way more than our 2.0 and ur 1.6. You'll run you car's weight ratio once you add the motor. It'd be like me adding 2 Redzman on top of my hood and start driving around.

THe power might make up for the extra weight..so than what will you gain? 40whp max? The handling will decline for sure aswell.

If your shop has the resources, and you have the money go for it but do it right. Sc the 3.8 aswell tongue.gif

I say go with the 3.8L V6 if you have the funds for the swap & if it's even possible in the first place.

3.8L would be very interesting project!

main issues - engine mounts, tranny to fit engine and drive shafts.

2.7 engine has only 167 hp. it's not worth it to swap.

no no no..... stay with the 2.0 because it has tunning parts ready as for the 3.8 "nothing at all" even here in korea and thats a fact. unless you just want 265hp and that is all..

@ 2pacalypse Dmitri is right. The V6 2.7 is not worth it. With the 2.0 I will have close to 170 whp.

@ Mad_john 265 hp + 100 hp nitrous oxide would be fine for me… but here in Greece they told me that it will cost me more than $15.000 just to buy the engine with the ECU.

Add transmition ???

The price is going high… very high I thing Ill install the used 2.0 (F2 EVO) engine I found here for $840
