Default 2.0 or 2.2 L?

Hmmm... this is pretty interesting. Aight people, check out these numbers and lemme know what you guys think...

2.0 liter DOHC 16-valve D-TEC engine w/ 129 hp @ 5400 rpm & 136 lb.-ft torque @ 4400 rpm

or

2.2 litre DOCH 16-valve D-TEC engine w/ 131 hp @ 5200 rpm & 148 lb.-ft. torque @ 2800 rpm

That's right... 2800 rpm. eek.gif Doesn't that seem like a really low rpm? Unless the torque curve reaches a plateau for about 2500 rpm, or drops off reaaaalllllly slow, it doesn't seem like it'd be worth much more than the 2.0 L.

Or am i wrong??

i want to know everyone's opinion, cause i was thinking about replacing my 2.0 w/ the 2.2. But i'm not sure how much the engine would cost me, so i'm not sure if it's gonna be worth it or not.

Let me know peeps. Thanks...

the 2800 RPM shows that the torque curve is nice and flat. That is VERY desirable.

Go with the 2.2L if the price is comparable to the 2.0L.

Are you sure these numbers are right?? It seems the peak torque is too low. Also, if the torque is flat then you should be getting a lot more HP at 5200. The torque on the 2.2 is about 8% higher and only getting 3HP more? I suggest you check those figures before making up your mind. Check the curves, it seems the torque on the 2.2 goes down faster that the 2.0 at high rpm.
