Default 1987 supra

Not sure where to post this, but I want to race a 1987 toyota supra. It has an intake and exhaust. I was wondering if the tib could take it. It has 110,000 miles on it. I have an exhaust and intake as well. Both are manuals.

Well he did post something about intake and exhaust so I guess it might qualify for it? But yeh, most definately, if you're running a stock tib, you're *** is gonna get busted, and who's to say that's all he has? Have you looked under his hood...an 87 Supra has had time to be tinkered with.

I cant believe someone else posted this right before I was going to. I have a 4cyl 2k3 Tib and a guy with an 87 supra wants to race me. He does NOT have turbo, he has zero mods and claims it is a 4cyl (although I dont think even a 87 supra could be a 4cyl). The only thing I have done is taken off the resonator, so pretty much no mods on my behalf either. I AM going to race him just for ***** and giggles but, I am just wondering what my chances are... Thx

Ok, well since this is my topic I am going to change it. My friend has a 1990 talon tsi with 160,00 miles on it. His base idle screw is gone and a new one is on the way. He replaced it with a shorter screw but it is supposedly still sucking in air through the throttle. He ran it at the track with out the BIS and ran a best of 16.1. Would I be able to beat him?

Hi tib98

Well i happen to have a Toyota supra 1987 model.Well this model is a V6,it has the 5MGE motor and it produces 170hp N/A.The worst thing abou this car is that it spins a lot the 1st and 2nd gear.If you can take him at these first two gears then you can beat him.If he engages the 3rd or 4th gear its difficult to beat him if your tib is stock..
I believe that your chances are 70percent with you.Just make a good start and you´ll have him.
The advantage of you is that he cannot fly at the 1st and 2nd gear.Hope that helped,,,, wink
