I talked to a guy today that drive a 1.5L Accent...

I was wondering, since we like to take the 1.8 cams and drop those into the 2.0s, would a 1.5 give more or would that just be bad joo joo all around? Forgive me if this was a stupid question... but it was something I was thinking about on the way home today from work.

The 1.5L has a different head from what I know so the camshafts probably wouldn't fit.

Ya, the 1.5 is a completely different setup. The cams will NOT swap.
Now what I would like to know is if there would be gains from the 1.6L Beta Intake or exhaust cam sold in the Tibs in parts of the world other than North America. That would be worth checking into.

1.6 and 1.5 have different heads, different from 2.0 and 1.8.

Hes talking about the 1.6L beta cam, not the alpha (accent) 1.6L cam.

They only make the 1.6L beta in europe and a few other places.

I assume its the same head. we dont have much info out here on it, but from the pics i've seen it sure looks like the same valve cover.

ok, so assuming the 1.6L beta fits, would that prove to be benificial or not for us 2.0 or even the 1.8s out there? I guess this is an all in theory question anyway... but I was thinking about it, and didnt know if it would work out that way or not.

No 1.6 BETA has different head.

Becasue 1.6 uses different cylinder bore.

1.8 and 2.0 use the same bore, that's why hyundai used the same head.
