I was throwing a CEL for the bank one 02 sensor which was putting my car in serious limp mode. I replaced the o2 sensor with a new one and reset the ECU, the car ran fine for about 15 minutes and then the CEL came on again. Trouble code says that the sensor failed becuase of the inner core temperature. Any suggestions? I don't really want to replace it again without knowing what is wrong, thats sixty bucks down the drain.

The code is:

P0135
02 sensor heater
Circuit Malfunction
(bank 1 sensor 1)

and

P0131
02 sensor
Circuit Low Volts
(bank 1 sensor 1)

The guy who read my CEL said that there might be a wire grounding out somewhere...any suggestions?

Does the 02 sensor heater activate to heat the 02 sensor after the car is shut off in order to burn off the carbon that has been deposited on the sensor and to clean the sensor?
