So I got a CEL today when I was out driving to pick up some lunch. It stays on...it doesnt flash. I havent had a chance to pull the code to see whats going on, but the car is acting perfectly normal, and nothing seems to be wrong what so ever in the way it drives. I'm guessing it could possibly be a bad 02 sensor maybe. So just for the hell of it, I did a search on Google just to see what the pricing is for a new sensor, and this is what came up:

http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=2001+H...e&scoring=p

It goes from almost 30 bucks to over a 100. Whats the difference really? Without pulling the code, I wont know for sure, but if it is a bad sensor, then will any of the cheaper ones work ok, or should I not skimp out and get the more expensive one? Thanks.... smile.gif

Get the one from the dealer, it seems a few members have found the Bosch one sold at autozone and such is wired wrong for us.

stcharlesauto.com or one of the Hyundai parts sites can get you the OEM one for a discounted price.

It was probably your VTEC position valve, sometimes they don't sit flush with the head when they close. tongue.gif

Code should still pull up though.

Go find out man, it could be important.

Really? I never knew you could still pull a code, even after the light goes off. I figured the ECU resets itself or something. I'll check it out tomorrow if I have time. I have an OBD Scanner, so its just a matter of not being lazy and taking the 2 seconds to plug it in and see what comes up. laugh.gif

Nope.

This is why when you go to the emissions place they can see if you just got your codes cleared.

If you reset the ECU, they go away.
