as an alternative to soapy hot water, you can get some paint prep. its just mineral spirits, and you dont have to worry about leaving any residue behind.

You can drive without door panels, but you won't have windows (unless you leave switches plugged in and hanging down...) Also you'll have nothing to grab onto while shutting the door.....but it's doable.

Also you can drive w/o dash on just need to plug in hazard switch (unscrew button from dash) so that way your turn signals work. And if you want all the buttons you wanna use, rear defrost, etc.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend though, I did it just to make a trip to the store for more sandpaper but I think cops can get you for that (only if they have a reason to pull ya over in the first place). Just be careful man,.

HOLY CRAP I JUST NOTICED SOMETHING, my drivers side door panels are a diferant color then the passenger side! my Drivers side pannels are like the gray smooth plastic, but my passenger side is the black like, leathrish type stuff most of the black dash is made off! is that normal? Now im definatly not painting the passenger side.

HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
.......................................they're supposed to be like that, lol.
Don't paint passenger door, I did mine and kind of regret it. It matches the other door but nothing flows over from the dash to the passenger door, unless you paint the whole crash pad which is just WAYYYY too much (work, glare, and just plain ugly....) Kit what color are you doing?

heh... I have been wondering for years why people painted the passenger side door panel.... it NEVER flows with the rest of the car when you do that.
