that's not really recommended unless you got a performance alternater, cause it would just drain the alternater in time.

Thanks alot for this thurough DIY man, I did mine yesterday and finished with the other pulleys today.

Belt sizes I used were...

32.0 for the Crank - AC belt Part # 4040320 4pk0815 from Checker Auto - Goodyear Gatorback
33.5 for the Crank - Water/Alternator Part # 4040335 4pk0850 from Checker Auto - Goodyear Gatorback
26.7 for the Power Steering - Water Sub Pulley Part # 4030267 3pk0680 from Checker Auto - Goodyear Gatorback

I did Jspeed Pulleys all around using the Beta 2 pulley set for the PS/Water combo, and the Jspeed Crank pulley. Since this pushes all pulleys to GROOVED BELTS, you have to swap the small pulley that is attached to the WATER PULLEY with this OEM part...

25226-23501 Pulley - Power St Should be about $20 from the dealer, it is a OEM Beta 2 part from Elantra XD's.

I'll post a new thread with all this info and pictures of the install, I didn't do a DIY in full as it's not THAT hard, but I will put up some recommendations and such on how to make it happen quicker.

BTW, the easiest way to get that Crank/AC belt on is to take off the tensioner pulley, install the belt, reinstall the pulley, tension the belt.

Remember even the pullies that say over/under drive for the accessory pullies are all the same size as stock for our cars, so all it does is lighten the load.

Other cars actually have pullies that under or over drive the pullies, but only the crank is underdriven for the pullies available for our cars, as of now at least.

I finished up the pulley install a few days ago and it was not that bad. The water pump can be a tight squeeze to get at, however everything just bolted right on. The only thing I need to modify to my OBX crank / water pump / power steering pump pulley kit is file the crank pulley keyway hole a little taller to clear the crankshaft keyway.

I used Dayco 'Poly Cog' premium belts from Advance Auto Parts.
The air conditioning belt is part number: 5040315 (4PK0800) which is a 31.5-inch belt
The alternator / water pump belt is part number: 5040330 (4PK0840) which is a 33.0-inch belt
The power steering belt is the same size as factory. I just changed my belts not very long ago so I just re-used my P/S belt.

If you want a different belt size all you have to do is change the last three numbers to your desired belt length.

These belts fit great on both of my Tibby's. They had to go one certain ways (certain pulleys first) so that it fit otherwise it would be too tight and seem like you would need a longer belt. This is probably where all the belt length discrepencies are coming from.

I live in the cold/snow belt and I have not experienced any squeeling of the belts yet. With the factory pulleys I kept having to re-tighten the belts because everytime I ihte snow/water they would squeel. When I put the OBX pulleys on I tightend them up pretty tight and now that they wore for about a week they feel great, hopefully they quit squeeling for good.

One good one, but youll be cautious and will most likely take a couple times to get the feel of it.
