The least this could do was provide something to read when you're bored! I'm gonna be putting a can through my car so at least I know I'm 100% with everything.

Thanks DrivingTibNaked, extra ideas and more to clean and keep my car in top shape!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (zoned019 @ Aug 6 2007, 03:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Dude, all you had to do was click Search, and type in Sea Foam.
Or go to Google, and type in Sea Foam.
Or go to Sea Foam's website, and read.

I'm just saying, posting off-topic is a rule around here, and asking "what is it" in a thread that is dedicated on "how to put it in your tib" is most certainly off-topic.

If someone had a thread "how to install a turbo kit on your tiburon" and you went in there asking "what is a turbo? how does it help me?" what kind of response would you expect? Same thing applies here.

Now, enough of this. I'm glad you got your answer, and I hope you give it a try, because there certainly is a lot of junk in our engines from all the oil that gets in through the PCV valve.

I suggest everyone that does this mod to also install an oil catch can (and NO, this is not the place to start a "catch can" discussion. there are plenty of other threads for that, in fact, I just made a new one a few days ago, if you're interested).</div>

You're a dick. Here are the DIY rules.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>1. Where to get the product and price.
2. Tools needed and sizes of tools.
3. Sizes of wires, # of connectors, ect...
4. Favorite Beer used during installation. wink.gif
5. Help needed or what needs to be done professionally for safety sake.
6. Most important, PICTURES!!!
7. Do not post just links to a DIY. Please post the actual DIY here, atleast we will have the directions if the page ever goes down.</div>
Read the rules before you post a DIY.

A do-it-yourself guide is to familiarize people with how to do it theirselves. It's to help others follow in your footsteps so that it's easier for them to do then it was for you on your first time. If they don't know what it is, or where they can get it, then they can't do it themselves.

What is it is not off topic. that's a perfectly logical question you should have answered in this DIY guide. Try using the 5Ws when you write a DIY.

I would like to add anyone with a turbocharger setup should not use Seanfoam through the crankcase, as it can damage the seals in the turbo.

^^Seriously??

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (zoned019 @ Aug 6 2007, 01:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>And if you don't want to call it a DIY, fine with me, change the title to something more appropriate then. My writeup has already inspired 2 people, and it hasn't even been a day.</div>

I don't care.

I DID include the product and the price.
I DID include the tools needed
I DID include my favorite beer
The only rule I didn't follow was the pictures one, and that issue was addressed in the FIRST post, so get off my nuts.

NOWHERE in your "rules" does it say I have to explain WHAT the product does. When that guy wrote the "nitrous install DIY" do you think he wrote an explanation on what nitrous is, why you should install it, what it does for you, why it works, how nitrous increases your horsepower? NO. If you write a DIY for "racing seat installation" would you tell people why they should buy racing seats? Shit, DTN, you've written plenty of DIY's on LED's and other things, did you tell people WHY they might want to have LED's as opposed to incandescents? NO. Did you tell people what an LED is? Or what it stood for? NO. Why? Because if you want to know that shit, you go read the f***ing encyclopedia. Or you search the internet. It's pretty god damned simple.

----
Actually, you know what, you're right. I probably could have been more thorough. I could have had a picture of each little step. But I don't. You know what else? 99.99% of the people (the other .01% of people are morons, and there is no hope for them in tuning, or in life) will STILL UNDERSTAND IT. And that's all that matters.

Now STOP this bullshit.

It took 10 seconds of my time to answer the question as to what it was. Big freaking deal. Glad I could help you JBob250.

The way I do it is take the vacuum hose off the master cylinder and poor it in there. Turn the car off and let it sit for 15 minutes. Turn the car on and let it smoke out.

They're not my rules, they're the site rules. Yes, I always include benefeits of performing the DIY. Also, I wrote the Nitrous DIY. http://www.rdtiburon.com/index.php?showtopic=22392

If you have any extra of the seafoam left over, save it for a few miles before an oil change. Dump it in your oil and it will clean up carbon and sludge from the oil. I use a half of a can about 30 miles prior.

I cant give you dyno proof. But you can almost feel it lol. My gas mileage went from 21mpg to 25mpg without changing habits...

and a quick note, it isn't good to do it in the engine too often. wait a few months before doing it again.
