EDIT: yea was the fuse for the tailight, and a piece of electrical tape has slid off the power supply then grouded out on the metal inside the door so everything works good now. thx guys.

^^^yup, its that one. id make sure you dont have any solder joints touching before you replace it though. you might just blow another fuse.

kayjai, working on a rd1 blower assembly, i figured out why you didnt really understand what my problem was. its because the rd1's dont have the problem, lol.

the rd2 blower assembly does have it though. you get the whole assembly out. when you go to remove the a/c and recirc buttons, you un clip them, slide them, but they get stuck. they get stuck because the little button cover(the part you touch when you push the button, and the part that has the windows for the light) is actually bigger than the opening for the rest of the button. so when you pull it, that plastic peice prevents you from being able to remove the button. and it is hard as f*ck trying to remove the cover peice the way its put on there. i usually end up breaking part of it to get it off.

that makes two DIY related things that i like more about the rd1s now. this, and their gauge clusters are less crowded, and more simply built.
