this is something i have had in my mind for a long time and finally i got all the parts
first what i suggest is to do this swap -> http://www.rdtiburon.com/index.php?showtopic=14199
as it is really hard to do mods to original system...
Then buy a set of bmw M3 discs, I went for brembo because of the quality

here is a pic of the disc













bmw has a different disc inner diam and holes so you SHOULD! get a centering ring and must redrill the holes
i had a layout like this made to help drill the holes



First use a smaller bid and later i recommend using a 12,5 to 13mm bid as centering ring makes the disc sit in correct place

these are all the parts needed to assemble



and this is the disc sitting correctly on the rotor



I still have to finish the piece to connect the caliper to hub but i have ordered the material already and it wil happen this weekend!
material should be something light but not ordinary aluminum!! here we have a aluminum called alumec that is strong and costs 10EUR per 1 kg

I HAVE consulted with people working with metal daily and there is no risk in drilling extra holes in the disc! you can just see me take it to the track smile.gif

 

wow now that is some customizing. if you get this crazy set up to work let me know i would give it a try if you get it going for a cheap price.

but i have questions

a. how are you gonna get this to mount to the bracket
b. does the brakeline just screw right into the caliper? do you need any connectors??

 

making the custom caliper bracket will be easy since it seems he knows a little machining.

the brake hose might attach right up, but either way, worth it to get custom brake lines to have a kit like this installed..

i might have to look into this since i can get the caliper brackets made.. would be MUCH cheaper than going with willwood, and probably around the same price as the XG upgrade. but it will be more effective that the XG BBK.

 

yes there will be custom barckets and im onmy way now to start machining them! will post pics also later!
I recommend custom brake lines! Original are rubber and when brakeing they expand a little so it affects performace! Metal shelded brake lines are much better!

i dont know how are the prices at your location but my expenses have been something like this:
calipers-400EUR
discs-130EUR for 2
material for brackets-40EUR-special aluminum!
hub and knuckle-250EUR

 

the caliper price, that was for both calipers right?

and you can use the stock hub/knucles right? just wondering why you picked up new ones

some hyundais have the captive rotors that are pretty much crap...
i bought non captive rotors from 2001 elantra

 

o, i got ya.. you might wanna just let people know that if they were to venture off and do this that they would not need new hub/knuckle and that you did a captive/non-captive swap at same time.

just so people don't think that they are 250 EUR (370$) USD more then they are..

it would be a pretty decent price to setup a true BBK like this. this setup could be done, if you had right resources, for $600.

FYI, m3 rotors are ~12.5" diameter compared to the XG which is 12".

the porsche calipers are 4 piston as opposed to the XG two pistons.. i found some buy it now brembo 4 piston calipers for 400$ shipped

but will the brake master cylinder have enough oil flow&volume to make the 4 pistons work without
having an ultra low brake pedal?
what's the piston diameters?
