My alarm doesn't lock my doors anymore its as if it is trying but just can't.

would it be my alarm or my door actuators?

my alarm is old and i want to put a new one in eventually

i can central lock my doors with the key but not with the alarm button and it locks once you start the car

can anyone help?

That's weird.
I have a feeling it's your driver's side actuator
Check that the metal rod that hooks the actuator onto your locking rods in the door are still connected / not broken

no they are not broken i have all my door panels off as we speak.

Its is the passenger side (driver side for U.S tibs) that dosn't lock the drivers side works ok.

I cant figure it out?
when i watch the lock through the window press the alarm i can see when it locks the driver side and at the same time the passenger side the lock button thingy moves a little but dosn't lock fully and i can go and open the door, the alarm goes off but the damn door wont lock unless i get out use the key to lock all the doors then set the alarm..

hope it makes sence.

and i have a brand new battery if it helps,

its as if its just not getting enough power or something....

help

You need one of these:

Which ever side is not working...
If it's not physically the rods that connect it, it's the internals of the actuator
I have replaced both sides since I've had my car, once under warranty and another I paid for. Good thing I knew how to replace it laugh.gif

Pretty easy. Just gotta have flexible fingers smile.gif
Not sure if there are aftermarket ones, you'd have to check around the web or locally. I got a new OEM one. But I remember it was friggin' expensive, even at MY cost! Like $70 or something like that.
