I went so far as to get cables and the shifter baseplate from the GK and swapped them in. It helped a tonnnn. But honestly, it's still just what Stocker said. Good mod, though, since it's basically free.

but heres my best explanation for the DIY:

What you will need:

-12mm Socket

-5/16 Brass fitting ( or w/e else will fit over the peg)

-about 15min-1hr depending how fast you are

I believe you can do this mod without having to take off bolts 4 and 5, i did because i wanted to remove the whole part. Now as you can see in the pic i lost some of the bushings or w/e so it doesnt bolt down right, ill have to fix that tomorrow.

So remove bolts 1 and 2 (2 is hidden behind shifting mechanism)

Slip the fitting over the peg ( number 3 in pic)

Reassemble.

You should notice tighter shifter, or at least i did.

I dont have any pics of the actual fitting, i didnt take pictures during the process.

Some more pictures of it installed:

Let me know what you guys think!
Any chance of reposting pics

NOT my work.

I think I found these on hyundaicoupeclub.co.uk/ or one of the other UK based Hyundai forums.

It's also noteworthy that this mod can be done to Beta 1 and Beta 2 transmissions. I've done it on both style linkages.
