Default what application do you use to defrag?

so i was using O&O defrag, but i found that it wasn't doing the greatest job. my drives would just stay at the same level of fragmentation for weeks

i tried defraggler. i like how lightweight it is. it was going to take forever to defrag one of my drives because it only had about 15% free space

so, i just copied all the data to an empty drive and then copied it back. now it has not fragmentation. only took an hour

I also only use Windows defrag. I've seen nothing that leads me to believe that going to something else would help me in any measurable way.

I use to run utilities that placed programs near each other on the disk, etc. but I never saw any measurable improvement so I've just gone to keeping it simple.

You probably spent 3x what I did for my Dell 3 years ago, and it still runs like a champ. smile.gif

I use Windows defrag about once a year. Like Floyd, I don't see any measurable gains from it.
