Default Stephen Hawkings says time travel is not possible

Poke a fork in it - it is done. Stephen H. says it can't happen...

What would it take to make time travel a reality, and how would that affect the present reality? (via Arik Korman, 95.7 KJR)

....... I have experimental evidence that time travel is not possible. I gave a party for time-travelers, but I didn't send out the invitations until after the party. I sat there a long time, but no one came.

You don't have to be Stephen Hawking to know that if time travel EVER becomes possible, time will cease to exist forever. In other words, the fact that I'm typing this and I exist means time travel will never be possible. No, I'm not willing to debate this. This is fact, not opinion.

Based on which scientific research? You took a theory about time travel and it's potential, presume results and posted it as a confirmed fact. Which being a theory, is anything but fact.

Hence an opinion.

Just sayin'

The only way it would be possible is if we have an infinite number of universes and found a way to move to the universe that is playing out exactly how the one we all sit in right now is/has/will. Then go and jump into it because its the same, just delayed the exact amount of time you want to travel into time. Matter is moving forward together. If you were to try and go back in time in this universe... how?? The atoms, etc that were in that specific place at that time have now moved on. Rearrange everything back to where it was then? We will never have an energy source capable of doing that. The only "time travel" that seems possible would be to play with relativity and move forward in time. However, you really didn't move forward.. you hauled ass to the point that to you time moved slower, relatively. Even if its moving slower for you anyone looking for you could still see you.. just time for them would be moving faster than you at that point. You couldn't just jump forward in time. So, not really time travel either, that is closer to just claiming its now August... but have more to back it up.

What scientific research would cobra have to state to make that a fact? Try to move the earth back to where it was on December 1, 1982? I do not think his civic has the power?!?!

Obviously research is only data that backups a theory, I need proof of universal acceptation. Which on the subject of time travel does simply not exist. Proof of that alone is the fact that notable minds like Hawking find it necessary to publicly comment against the theory. So it's a theory about a theory that is factually known not the be a fact, on the grounds that {in terms of absolution) is still in question. The only fact regarding time travel is the notion that it is but a theory.

In regards to the topic, the only question remaining:

Do you trust a profit of theory, like Steve.

Or John Titor, a self proclaimed time traveler, who predicted the LHC and other scientific breakthroughs almost a decade in advance.

I'm tired of explaining science to people who just don't get it. You can't do research on something that doesn't exist. Do I have to do experiments on pink midget elephants to prove they don't exist?

If time travel ever became possible, it would would always be possible. So, you should be able to extrapolate where this goes...

Time travel IS possible. You just need a DeLorean.

1 if by land, 2 if my sea, hold my lantern while I adjust the radar?

Glad to know technology is a constant, not a discovery. Darn those government school and their lies

It's got nothing to do with technology. It's physics. You can't invent a time machine for the same reason you can't invent a machine to create matter from nothing. It's just physics.
