Default Laptop Mods

So I'm looking to mod out one of my laptop. I want to put blue led or neon lighting under the key's so they light up, similiar to my Alienware laptop. Anyone have any suggestions or DIY's on how I can do this? Its a new laptop that I just got (an Acer), and I plan on using it as a backup in case my alienware crashes on me at the clubs. smile.gif Thanks for any help you guys can give.

Best way is to buy a Logitech G15 gaming keyboard and plug it in. smile.gif

Or one of those cheap ones might work too since the G15 is pretty freaking huge. But I love it.

If you seriously want to mod yours so the keys are backlit maybe you could put small LED's under each key but that would be a lot of work and only work right if the keys have transparent lettering.

i HAVE A REGULAR KEYBOARD with a clear coating of plastic around and on top of the frame, but not the buttons. the manufacturer put leds shinning sideways throught the acrylic, so the acrylic glows, and it's enough to see the keys by, but it doesn't light up the keys or underneath them.

I'll try to find a pic when i get home.

The G15:

Do your keys have clear lettering? If not it'll be almost impossible to do what you want to do.

http://www.overstock.com/Electronics/Veloc...04/product.html is what I have on my desk at home. You can take the clear plastic piece off the bottom or just turn off that light (the wrist rest piece and the key lighting are 2 different switches) so you just have the keys lit up.

Lighted Keyboards annoy the piss out of me, I have the Saitek Eclipse 2 in a box somewhere and that sh*t is bright as a mother nearly blinded me, not recommending it for playing games in a dark room is for sure.

Eclipse II The lighting is bright and the space key sticks like a............ so I boxed it and am using a Microsoft Laser Wireless Desktop now. As far as lighting the keys of your laptop id say dont, laptops have enough to deal with just running and not sucking the battery dry why add more power drain.
