HTC Evo vs Iphone
Sup fellas!!
so about three weeks ago i got the HTC Evo 4,g the one that looks just like the 3d one, i almost got the 3d but i really dislike 3d movies and if you didnt look at the phone in the correct way the 3d effect was lost plus i am not a very technical person, i dont even understand half the crap, thats too modest, i dont understand a fourth of the crap about my phone
it seems like everyone down here in PR is dickmatized with the Iphone, my question is which do you think is better and what are some strengths and weaknesses about each one.
i know most of you are up to date with all this technology and i am not so i'll appreciate any input you have
take it easy guys...

just to be quick...
Android allows you to simply open up the folders in the phone, drop your music or other files in, and then take off. No need to sync with iTunes, it works just like a flash drive. Easy to get the pictures off and transfer them.
You don't have to go to an Apple store to get it fixed or replaced.
I've enjoyed my Evo 4G for the last year.

Howabout all iOS 5 features are copies of Android 2.2 features...
Android had 2.3, 2.4, 3.0 and 3.1 now.... Apple is behind the times.
If you look at the hardware, a week before release of iPhone5 there was a better Android.
Samsung makes Apple A4 and A5 processors. Samsung also makes Androids. That's where their focus is. They scaled back their A4 by 1/4 for iPhone4, and released their own faster S5PC110 at a faster clock rate.
You never get the good apps in the Apple store for free. This is because they wont let apps in if they conflict with a "planned" service.

The iphone has a way longer battery life compared to the EVO. Most ppl I know with EVO's using the stock battery are unable to last a full day without needing to be recharged.
iphone only uses the 3g networks, the EVO runs on 4g networks.

thanks for the info guys. i take it that most of you like the Evo/android over the I phone??
the only thing that has me worried with my phone is as krazytib says is the battery, right now if i can get 2 days worth of battery i am lucky, and the onl way i do thats is by following some battery saving steps i found online, turning of the GPS and 3g when not in use, i was thinking of getting the larger battery but this phone is pretty heavy right now i assume the battery makes it heavier
what do the battery saving apps actually do???

That is 100% dependent on use and cellular signal quality. My iPhone3GS would not make it through a day either if I actually used it.

Tips for saving battery on android..
Disable active wallpapers
Turn ON WIFI and stay connected
Disable GPS
Disable Auto-rotate
Disable auto-brightness
Turn screen brightness down
Disable bluetooth
Turn on flight mode when in a very low or no signal place
Disable internet tethering, especially wifi tethering
Do not install apps that have the Startup Notification permission
Disable tv-out
Set email to check once every 4 hours
Set accounts to synchronize every 4 hours.
You see. iPhone simply does not have most of these features... they use battery and make the phone nicer. Disable to extend battery life.

well since i sell iphones and HTC phones i'll give you the low down
and iphone:
wont play flash
wont give turn by turn directions
only has 800Mhz processor
only has 5MP camera
can only be tech supported or evaliuated by apple store
droids for the same price of 199.99:
have 8MP cameras
proper voice commands
have the whole internet not just the random sites that dont use flash
usually have at least 1Ghz processors if not dual core 1 gig
open source baby
most people who get iphones get them because either they are too simple minded to figure out a droid OR they are so simple minded that they only want an iphone because everyone they know has one and they dont care about what all they can do.
there isnt a single person in our whole company (independently owned verizons) that uses iphone. and we can have any phones we want

damn Optimo you are speaking the truth, most people down here get Iphones just to say they have Iphones
i read somewhere that when iphones get Flash then its all over
DTN thanks for the advise, i have done most of that, but like you said if i abuse my phone on the internet or gaming or whatever yeah the battery would only last a couple of hours
