I did folding@home back in high school. Like 10-13 years ago.
never saw the results. I did it sort of as a benchmark to see how fast I could make my computer process

Yeah, I was real big on it for use like what Majik said... I would build a computer and try to make it run as hard as possible.. Now I'm more concerned about my power bill. Folding @ home on my machine is very power consuming on my quad core processor with 200+ core video card. When my computer scales up to max the lights start dimming and the neighbors complain about brownouts.. people start looting in the street after a few hours.
Seriously though... I need my processor when I need it and I like to keep it less then 1% then when not using it...
