Default Good starter telescope

Looking to get into some amateur astronomy and was wondering if any of you have a good review on what starter telescope I should get. I want something with a good viewing magnification but wont be outdated or needing to be replaced quickly. Budget is around $300-350 but if something is in the next level of pricing gets me a better telescope for only $50-100 more, I'll spend the cash on it.

You get what you pay for. There are so many levels of glass, options, etc. You'll never get the best. Just pay for the best you can afford.
