They are bloody good - an associate of mine has one at his uni, used for prototyping stuff. Damned clever how they work too.

No, it is neutral. Like electricity, fire, and the Internet. The trouble lies with the men who use ANYTHING. A 3rd grader's pencil can be a deadly weapon in the right hands.

That said, I wonder what sort of hell would be conjured up if you walked into a public 3D print shop in UK and started printing AR-15 lower receivers and magazines.

This printer can change the world.

Because with no money and big ideas can stick it in a printer..

Looks at how the limited slip Differential was invented much sooner if we had tech like this around.

Doesn't quite work that way - the end product of this is kind of like sintered metal, it's only just fused together and can be pretty delicate. Much the same as cast metals, a slight impact in the wrong place and it's buggered.

Certainly no good for firearm componants, could make a tidy replica though.

You can make an AR lower out of plastic. They're already sold.

They're working on a version that can use rock and make a cement like product for use on the moon/Mars/asteroids. Ship the machine and have it drive around building structures for when you come to visit.
