Yes I've upgraded: https://www.hyundaiaftermarket.org/forum/in...showtopic=56175
I actually have full bars. I am in a building with a $100,000 antenna system. I use iSSH to access the SSH on my phone. I've changed the password and I do not wish to patch over the exploit. It is only good if I view a PDF exploiting site. I would not want to patch over a security hole which is a feature. I do not have 3g, only Edge network, 2G. With full signal, it should be transmitting away, I don't understand 70,000ms latency. It's beyond my comprehension. The AT&T guy called me last night and I was able to e-mail their tech with the information I collected. |
That sucks to hear DTN, a half minute to a full minute of latency is a little extreme....i remember the days of 2g and i deleted internet from my RAZR as a result of the internet being worthless...
BUT even if you had some T-mobile service there i wouldn't advise jailbreaking and switching to tmo anyway UNLESS you had absolutely amazing tmobile signal. A lot of people are caught up in the fact that Tmobile and AT&T both use SIM cards and they use similar networks. This means the swap CAN be done, but since they do use different frequencies the reception you get on the iPhone wont be as strong as a phone that was designed to tune into Tmobiles frequencies. Sure the iPhone can be forced to receive tmo's signal, but since it wasn't designed to it wont be as efficient at it... Case in point: I'm in downtown Tampa, which has 3G everywhere for Tmobile, we are in the Marriot hotel banquet room (it was a wedding reception rehearsal) and the my friend sitting next to me has a jailbroken iPhone running tmobile's service, but she's complaining that she only gets "searching for signal" and starts going on about how crappy tmobile's service is... I pull out my motorola cliq, which is also Tmobile, and i Have 3 bars & 3G... so clearly the problem isn't Tmobile's signal... |
Well it appears apple has already released iOS 4.0.2 which patches the jailbreakme.com exploit. At least I still have 4.0.1 downloaded on my pc in case I need to restore my phone.
