I just looked at one of these at bed, Bath, & beyond. Thought it was pretty cool...............Until i saw the price.
Who in their right financial mind would pay $300+ for a freakin fan.

Is it cool, yes. Do I want one, yes. Is it expensive, yes. Is it worth $300, yes (for someone who "has to have it"). Do I have one, no.

I fail to see the problem with current technology as implemented these days. Everybody knows the problems with a fan, and everyone who makes a fan has worked around the problems a couple of DECADES ago. I saw a video about this thing and they made a big deal about how there's no buffeting from individual fan blades hitting you. . . okay, if they hit me at 300Hz I don't notice. Also safety: sure you can stick your head in this vs. not being able to stick your head in a conventional fan. And? Who sticks their head through a fan?
Yes it's cool. Yes do want. NO won't pay that. Sales will be slow (except for government customers) until the price comes WAY the heck down.

They're really cool. I like how quiet it is vs. a fan moving the same amount of air. I would never pay that much though. Now if they kept the price the same and made a ceiling fan, maybe.

heh, my girlfriend just told me that if I had showed her that earlier, she would have bought it for my birthday. I think that would be a great present.

I tested this too. The air is 10 times more refreshing than a conventional-type fan. The stream of air is less interrupted which makes it more comfortable. If it's made in the USA and quality made, then yes, it's worth $300
