Coax or Optical?

If you are talking digital coax (orange plug) vs. TOSLink optical, unless you use components you find in the trash, go with whatever is simplest for you because you will not hear the difference.
Even if you are talking analog coax (the old red/white plugs) you still wouldn't hear the difference unless you -and your equipment- are very, very special.

I disagree. I recently switched my HDTV from coax to digital. I noticed a HUGE difference with sound quality while watching TV.
I also changed my Blue Ray from digital coax to optical, and noticed a small improvement.
I should mention that this equipment is hooked up to some 3 way floor speakers with 12 inch woofers, a 12 inch sub, and surrounds.
