Bump allows transfer of information by bumping two devices together. On Android 2.4, you put them back-to-back to transfer files...
To tell you the truth, other then being artsy, i don't see this being useful. Who wants to hold their device in the air while transferring files?

IR is an out of date technology, affected by bright lights, interrupted by obstructions and limited by line of sight. RF beaming is great though and I agree.
btw.. I'm waiting for my RF TV remote to get here... It will communicate directly with my media center over RF or using the antiquated IR, it will turn on and off the TV.

Plus it has big metal buttons that go CLACK when you push them, and you can point it at the DIRT and it still works!
