When you are right, you got right on your side. You are right and they are wrong.

 

Before you do anything you MUST have a police report. If no forced entry is found and maintenance can be proved to be in the apartment that day then they can be blamed for leaving the door open. This is an easy win case in small claims.

In movies people pick locks. In real life they kick in the door or a smash a window. No forced entry and you have neglect. Pointing that out to the landlord AFTER you have a police report and telling them that you are following legal means might get you a out of court settlement.

Will help if you can price everything up on Newegg.com somewhere. Receipts would be better.

Yes, get a police report. Just call local PD and say you had a break-in recently and want a police report to assist in pursuing a lawsuit. Do it ASAP, the longer you wait, the less effective it might be

working on getting the apartments to pay for my stuff, for now though i'm also being pressed for time because i've been going to interviews for jobs... i'm afraid if i get one though i might not have time to follow through with this and get the apartments to pay for my stuff... but i will still try to. thanks to everyone though for helping me out!

agreed...i live in military housing and i got renters through them and still got my own, can never have enough coverage!!!
