Regardless, plant in soil, get wood.

Some would call that carbon storage. It is the natural carbon cycle.

This is not photosynthesis. They're not taking energy from the sun or ground. They're mixing farmed algae with man-made chemicals and getting crude oil out.

Hmmmm. I would like to know the feasability of fermenting the algae and making bio ethanol. It must be easier to grow algae sludge than corn.

It is photosynthesis. Algae is a simple plant form.

Yes, photosynthesis is what is used to grow the algae, just like corn. But converting the algae to fuel uses more energy than it produces, also just like corn. As I said in my very first post... Conservation of Energy.

I am not arguing the energy ratio. You just said it wasn't photosynthesis. So actually the energy the algae uses to make the hydro carbon chemicals is free from the sun. Much like windmills have no cost for the energy used to make electricity. Efficiency is just a mankind hurdle.

I said the process of turning Algae into oil (the topic of the article) is not photosynthesis. I'm discussing the article, don't know what you're discussing.
