Default 3D televisions

Anyone else think this will catch on big? A couple of companies are selling them now, and Im starting to see commercials every day for them too. We all know that just about every movie thats coming out of Hollywood these days is in 3D. Wonder how soon before alot of tv shows start doing it as well.

I just bought a LED about 4 months ago. Not going to buy a 3D for a lonnnnng while, at least until 50% or more stations are broadcasting in 3D. It's like buying a HDTV when there are only 2 HD channels...

^ Exactly! And besides, most 3D movies that hit video, all come with the glasses anyway. So you dont need a special tv for it.

I will be tempted to buy one, depending on price. I suspect the next gen XBOX and Playstation will be 3D capable, and that will be what pushes me over the edge. That's the main reason I have a HDTV now.

I'm even excited to see the application of position relative pseudo 3D in games. Games with that will probably show up within a few months.

only video games and sports and some movies need to be 3D. its not even real 3D it's just a polarized imagine and it hurts my eyes after awhile. I don't want to watch 30 rock or south park in 3D especially when it strains my eyes. i'd play FPS all day though in 3D lol

Not true, have you seen one of those? they suck...with a 3D tv it will look as if it came from the theater. Plus with a special player you can get any movie converted to 3D and use those theater quality glasses and have a better 3D experience. i saw Monsters vs Aliens at Best Buy and it blew the theater version AWAY! i'd get one over an LED TV. LEDs are 2X more expensive for the same quality as an LCD. I have yet to see and LED that looked better enough for me to pay that kind of money for it.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (03-accent-03 @ Apr 7 2010, 08:25 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I just bought a LED about 4 months ago. I got a hell of a deal on my tv. Bought it for the same price I could have got a comparable 55" LCD.

*EDIT* - http://su.pr/2Y9BHd 3d technology...

Now is not the time to buy. There's what? 10 movies out which support it? You could be buying the next betamax. There is no need to buy a TV to support a handful of movies you do not own.

You will also always get what you pay for.

I'll wait until a standard surfaces.

You don't have to reach all the way back to the Betamax anymore, with HD DVD going the same route.

Lol. The beta was a nice throwback memory though! As for the LED, it's more expensive, yes, but I am curious about how much more energy it will save over LCD.
