Default Sweet potato fries

I love eating these things but they have a ridiculous amount of sugar in them. Is there any way to remove some of the sugar or are they naturally grown like that in nature with a very high sugar content?

Most places use frozen fries, which usually have corn syrup added to them. They then dust them with powdered sugar. Home made sweet potato fries usually aren't that sweet.
