Default Plank grilling

I'm getting into grilling using wood planks for flavor and smoke. Has anybody attempted to source grilling planks from a lumberyard or something? How hard is it to find untreated, grilling-grade wood of various types?

As long as you can find untreated wood, "grilling grade" doesn't really have to be of concern. If you soak the planks first and grill on lower heat, you'll be fine.

I prefer grill owling

On topic:

I just use woodchips from Lowes. Soaked for 30-60 sec and placed in already smoldering coals.

Haven't tried full logs yet, but i need a better grill 1st too.
