Default The McDonals McFatty Box

http://newsfeed.time.com/2013/09/11/...box/?hpt=hp_t3

You know that nerve-racking moment when you arrive at your local McDonald’s eatery and you’re so incredibly hungry that you want practically everything on the menu, but don’t want to go through the hassle of requesting each item individually? Good news: you have one less thing to worry about.

McDonald’s introduced the Blitz Box to the Kansas City, Mo., market on Sept. 2, tied to a promotion with the city’s NFL team, the Chiefs. The plus-size meal — which is meant to feed two or more — contains two Quarter Pounders with cheese, 10 Chicken McNuggets and two medium fries for just $14.99 (and 2,940 calories!).

This promotion, which is slated to run through the end of the football season, is the fast-food giant’s first attempt at a box meal in the U.S., but McDonald’s has been exploring the large-scale approach on the international market since as early as 2010. If the program is a success, there’s little reason to believe it won’t be expanded beyond the Kansas City market and well into 2014 as the fast-food industry attempts to boost stagnant sales.

So the next time you’re driving through Kansas City and have a hankering for, well, just about everything, you’ll know just where to turn. No word yet on how this will impact the growing potato-party fad.

It honestly disturbs me that people still eat there.

It's not just the "eew, mega[something]. Engage insta-hate." The food is honestly disgusting. They add sweetener to EVERYTHING. Be good to your tongue, eat decent food.

It's no better or worse than any other fast food establishment, really. Good for the occasional dose of salt/fat.

That doesn't seem like an obscene calorie load for 2 people to share. Obviously there are much healthier options, but 1500 calories isn't THAT insane.

As if TWO people will share it. I see it as individual people indulging into a 1500 calorie snack.

wheel_of_steel, you need to go up just a couple of dollars on your fast food meal budget. They get a LOT better than McD's!

Keep in mind, the quality served here is surprisingly (actually not really so) lower than a lot o other countries. I know most of Europe even gets real meat.

I guess so. You can go up a tier, but mcdonalds is probably the best all round low tier fast food. Next tier up has more options, but it's still fast food and you are actually paying $20 for something that is still fast food.

I put a bigger split in my food habits. Either cheap fast food or save the cash and go to a decent actual restaurant every now and then.
