McDonald's coming out with bigger quarter pounder patty
Can a bigger burger save McDonald’s lagging sales?
According to an internal document reviewed by CNBC, the restaurant chain is coming out with a bigger quarter pounder patty as it tries to increase burger sales.
The new patty is to weigh 4.25 ounces before cooking and feature a new shape -- making it more of a quarter-pounder.
According to McDonald’s Twitter account, the current patty is four ounces before cooking and shrinks to 2.8 ounces after cooking. It's expected to roll out within the next month.
McDonald’s declined to elaborate on the bigger burger.
