Default How to drive your waiter crazy...

Great article on CNN:

I'm a strong believer in tipping well. I ALWAYS tip at least 20% unless something really bad happened and the server was just a jerk or horrible. But even then...I still tip decently. Way I look at it is, if you're not going to tip...stay home. People depend on the money and they are doing what they do, to make you as happy as you can be, when dining out.

if im not going to have decent service(ie i want to punch you in the face after im done eating) im not going to tip

you tip for a job well done, i bet my tire guys work 10 times harder than a waiter and yet they dont demand tips

if you dont piss me off expect about 15%

I usually do 20%, but if I got lousy service I will tip nothing. I don't mean substandard, I mean lousy. I don't care if they depend on the income. If I would have fired them If I was the boss I don't tip.

Campers suck fat ass, as do the special request people. If there's nothing on our menu you like, you should have stayed home and made it your damn self! 15% in our place is pretty low, and when it's even less than that, the waitstaff certainly gets a little flustered, with good reason. You just spent $150 for the 2 of you to eat an awesome meal, and now you're going to try to walk on a $15 tip? F**K YOU!! Also, if you eat half your meal and send it back, don't even try to get out of paying, because it WILL NOT HAPPEN! I really hate inconsiderate douche bags that think they're better then us. They do know we're the ones handling their food, right?

I never said it wasn't? I wasn't trying to do the math, it was just a quick example of a cheapskate.

Also, ^you're right, the allergy thing has gone to a whole new level with people. There's a huge difference between not liking, and being allergic to things.

I know that the rest of the staff besides the servers get a cut of the tips so simply basing it on bad service is not fair to the people that did not suck at providing the meal. However, it's the experience that I receive as a customer that determines my tip amount. I've never had what I consider to be bad service at a decent ($15 or up per plate) restaurant. If the staff can't provide satisfactory service at a place that charges $75 a plate people need FIRED immediately so that they can go back to not getting tipped at an IHOP somewhere where they belong. If I have to flag down the server 3 times because they perpetually forgot my drink, part of my order was never brought out, and I was sitting there for a half an hour after we were done eating waiting for my check so that I could leave I'm not leaving a tip and I'm probably not coming back to that place for a very long time if at all.

^Ha! If I got part of the tips at our place, I wouldn't be driving a Hyundai, lol. I don't get tipped, but in an open kitchen, I see and hear what happens in the dining room, and some people are just....plain...a**holes!
