Lots of debate on that topic at the moment. Lots of current "diet plans" emphasize the drop of breads but not grains (brown rice) so it's a touchy subject really. Personal experience...I do follow a less gluten style of life and odd allergy type symptoms are out of my life. Same could be said about dairy to some people.
